HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - 06/16/1988CITY COUNCIL 16 JUNE 1988 The South Burlington City Council held a special meeting on Thursday, 16 June 1988, at 8:00 pm, in the Conference Room, City Hall, 575 Dorset Street. Members Present Paul Farrar, Chairman; John Dinklage, Francis X. Murray Also Present William Szymanski, City Manager 1. Consider setting date for public hearing on Interim Zoning for the City Center area of Dorset Street Mr. Farrar explained that the City Planner suggests it will not be necessary to have Interim Zoning if proposed amendments are sent back to the Planning Commission for immediate action. Mr. Dinklage thus moved that the South Burlington City Council forward the attached list of proposed amendments to the Planning Commission for immediate consideration in a Public Hearing to improve the recently passed Central District Zoning and to further the goals of creating a City Center for South Burlington. He further moved to request the Planning Commission to reconvene work sessions on the approved Central District Zoning with special attention to heights, setbacks, coverage, density, density bonuses and a transfer of development rights program with the goal of sending additional amendments to the City Council as soon as possible. Mr. Murray seconded the motion which then passed unanimously. As there was no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at 8:05 pm. Rear yard setback: 30 feet from the rear property line (half blocks) or 16 feet from center line of block (full blocks) to create a 20-foot service street.
