Members Present Paul Farrar, Chairman; Molly Lambert, George Mona, Michael Flaherty Also Present William Szymanski, City Manager; Ruth Poger, The Other Paper; Budget Discussion Mr. Farrar suggested removing the word "capital" from the "capital additions to the operating budget" sheet. Mr. Farrar recommended adding $19,300 under next year's budget for a highway person instead of adding summer personnel. He felt that next year would be the most difficult as the inventory tax would still be phasing out as will revenue sharing. For the last year on the sheet, a final person has been added to the Fire Dept as well as a police person. Additional City Hall personnel have been added in 1990 and 1992. Under the 10-year capital budget, $250,000 has been added for a pumping station. Highway funds have been split into 4 sections because of the impact of new tax laws which affect how money can be borrowed and spent. The Council should decide this year if it will be necessary to bond for all the highway money. Mr. Farrar noted that in the past, services did not keep up with growth in the community because the extra funds when to cover inflation. He did not feel this would happen in the future and felt that the present plan would have this under control. Mrs. Lambert moved that the Council accept the proposed changes. Mr. Mona seconded. Motion passed unanimously. As there was no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. Clerk Published by ClerkBase ©2019 by Clerkbase. No Claim to Original Government Works.
