HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - 01/03/1983CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 3, 1983 The South Burlington City Council held a regular meeting on Monday, January 3, 1983, at 7:30 p.m., in the Conference Room, City Hall, 575 Dorset Street. Members Present Paul Farrar, Chairman; Leona Lansing, Michael Flaherty, and Hugh Marvin Member Absent William Burgess Others Present William Szymanski, City Manager; David Minnich, Assistant City Manager; Ruth Poger, The Other Paper Read Minutes of Regular Meeting of December 20, 1983 Mr. Marvin moved that the minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 20, 1982, be accepted as written. Mr. Flaherty seconded with unanimous consent. Following the vote, Mr. Marvin stressed the importance of proper wording of the agreement with the fire department, so that firefighters will not "make money" on disability benefits. Sign-disbursement orders Disbursement orders were signed. Sign application for planning advance for upgrading Airport Parkway Sewage Treatment Plant Mr. Flaherty moved that the application for planning advance for the upgrading of the Airport Parkway Sewage Treatment Plant, Project #026508 be signed. Mr. Marvin seconded with unanimous approval. Review Planning and Zoning Agendas There was no discussion on this subject. Labor Negotiations Mr. Marvin moved that the Council go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing terms of labor negotiations and to return to regular session at the end of the discussion for the sole purpose of acting upon Item 4 of the agenda. Ms. Lansing seconded with unanimous consent. Upon resuming regular session, Mr. Flaherty moved that the Council instruct Mr. Minnich to continue discussions with potential labor negotiator for better terms. Mr. Marvin seconded with unanimous consent. Mr. Flaherty moved to adjourn the meeting. Ms. Lansing seconded with unanimous consent. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m..
