HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - 03/14/1978CITY COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 14, 1978 The South Burlington City Council held a meeting on Tuesday, March 14, 1978. This meeting was continued from their regular meeting of March 13, 1978. The meeting was reconvened at 10:15 P.M. at the City Hall Conference Room, 1175 Williston Road. MEMBERS PRESENT Paul Farrar, Chairman, Michael Flaherty, Frank Armstrong, William. Burgess, Martin Paulsen. OTHERS PRESENT Albert Audette, Jerry Olson, William Szymanski. CONTINUE REVIEW OF CITY BUDGET Chairman Farrar reconvened the meeting for the purpose of continuing the review of the City Budget. Martin Paulsen made a motion that Item #211, Planning Expenses, be increased from $2,000 to $6,000, an increase of $4,000 for professional assistance and that Item # 501, Highway Salaries, be increased $14,000 plus the required Social Security expenses. SALARY REVIEW RECOMMENDATIONS The recommendations made by Chairman Paul Farrar, from the Salary Review Committee, are to be implemented, (see minutes of March 13, 1978 for attachments) DEBT SERVICE TAX RATE SET The tax rate for Debt Service be set at $ .29 and the Williston Road area sewer tax be set at $ .10. The City Operating Budget tax rate be set at $1.575 for fiscal year 1978-79. The motion was seconded by Mr. Flaherty and approved unanimously. The meeting was declared adjourned at 10:45 P.M.
