NARRATIVE:
In March of 2021, the South Burlington Police received a report of an overdose at the residence of Bruce
Erdmann located on Swift Street. The report was made after the reported victim had been transported
to the UVM Medical Center for treatment.
After a lengthy investigation, it was determined that Erdmann was responsible for giving cocaine to the
victim in the reported overdose and failed to call for medical assistance when the victim went
unconscious for an extended period of time. The victim in this instance actually partially recovered and
left the scene before medical treatment was sought.
On June 29th, 2021 the South Burlington Police responded to Erdman’s Swift Street home for an
unresponsive 29-year-old male. The male was subsequently pronounced dead and investigators learned
that the victim in this case ingested an unidentified pill before going unconscious. As part of the
investigation the South Burlington Police executed a search warrant at the residence and determined
Bruce Erdmann was in possession of multiple regulated drugs and methamphetamine.
Detectives worked with members of the Vermont Drug Task Force, the Chittenden County State’s
Attorney’s Office and the FDA during this investigation. The investigation culminated with the arrest of
Erdmann on charges of Dispensing Cocaine, Possession of Regulated Drugs, and Possession of
Methamphetamine. He was issued a citation to appear in court on February 4, 2022.
