HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - 06/05/1968BOARD OF SELECTMEN EMERGENCY MEETING JUNE 5, 1968 The South Burlington Board of Selectmen held an emergency meeting at the Town Office Building, 555 Dorset Street, South Burlington, Vermont on Wednesday, June 5, 1968 at 5:45 P.M. Mr. D'Acuti, Chairman, called the meeting to order. MEMBERS PRESENT Vincent J. D'Acuti, Chairman; Charles H. Behney, Walter Nardelli, Augustus T. Stannard. MEMBERS ABSENT Robert K. Ashley OTHERS PRESENT Henry LeClair, Town Manager, Richard G. Carter, Police Chief and Roger LeCours, Free Press Reporter. POLICE DEPARTMENT ITEM Due to the negative outcome of the vote for new buildings, the Board considered emergency measures to meet the needs of the Police Department and discussed moving the department to the Chittenden Trust Company building on Williston Road. On a motion made by Walter Nardelli and seconded by Charles H. Behney the Board unanimously voted to move the Police Department to the Chittenden Trust Company building, 805 Williston Road, South Burlington, expending up to $2,000 for the rent, moving costs, etc., with notice of termination by the town to be 30 days and by the bank 60 days.
