HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - 09/07/1967BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING SEPTEMBER 7, 1967 The South Burlington Board of Selectmen held a special meeting at the Town Office Building, 555 Dorset Street, South Burlington, Vermont On Thursday, September 7, 1967 at 5 P.M. MEMBERS PRESENT Frederick G. Blais, Augustus T. Stannard and Stephen M. Whittlesey. MEMBERS ABSENT Vincent J. D'Acuti, Chairman; and Robert K. Ashley. OTHERS PRESENT Mr. LeClair, Town Manager; Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Bosley, Mrs. R. Cromer, several residents of the Suburban Sq. area and a Free Press reporter. DOG COMPLAINT - OWNER, THEODORE JONES Mr. Whittlesey and Mr. Blais, Selectmen, had been appointed by the Board at their meeting of September 5, 1967, to investigate a complaint made in the form of a petition concerning a dog owned by Mr. Theodore Jones of 57 Helen Avenue. The petition is filed with minutes of this meeting. Mr. Blais reported that he had contacted Mr. Jones by phone at 9:30 A.M. on the morning of September 7, and told him that the Board's recommendation was that he dispose of the dog in ten days. Mr. Jones seemed most cooperative and agreed that he could take care of the matter. Mr. Whittlesey then made the suggestion that the Town Manager confirm the phone conversation with a letter to Mr. Jones, repeating the ten day deadline and adding that during the ten days the dog was to be kept tied and/or confined or immediate action would be taken.
