BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING JANUARY 17, 1967 The South Burlington Board of Selectmen held a regular meeting at the Town Office Building, 555 Dorset Street, South Burlington, Vermont on Tuesday, January 17, 1967 at 7:30 P.M. Mr. D'Acuti, Chairman, called the meeting to order. MEMBERS PRESENT Vincent J. D'Acuti, Chairman; Robert K. Ashley, Frederick G. Blais, Augustus T. Stannard and Stephen M. Whittlesey. MEMBERS ABSENT None OTHERS PRESENT Henry LeClair, Town Manager; Irving Douglas, Director of New Sewer System; Ed Myers, Free Press; Leo Jodoin and Leon Emmons, Park and Recreation Committee; two representatives from the League of Women Voters, and Mr. Ronald Keith of Laurel Hill Drive. READING OF THE MINUTES The minutes of the January 3, 1967 and January 11, 1967 meetings were approved as read. SECOND READING OF AMENDMENT TO ZONING ORDINANCE The Board voted to accept the final reading of the amendment to Zoning Ordinance Shopping Centers. The ordinance reads as follows: and seconded by Frederick Blais, the Board voted to accept the City's offer for a three year contract at $50,000 a year. LAND FILL AREA There was a general discussion on the land fill area. Mr. LeClair told the Board that he was concerned with the land fill area since Burlington began closing its dump Saturday afternoons. Mr. LeClair said that since this time, increased dumping in the South Burlington dump was noticeable. The Board decided to have Mr. LeClair keep a close watch on the dump and report back to the Board. SEWER CONSTRUCTION Mr. Douglas was given permission by the Board of Selectmen to apply for a $26,000 loan from the Federal Housing and Urban Development Agency for engineering planning on Phase IV of the sewerage construction. Phase IV is the Queen City Park area. The funds will be paid back to the federal government when a construction contract is let. PARKS AND RECREATION Mr. Leon Emmons and Mr. Leo Jodoin discussed budget needs of the Recreation Committee with the Board. The Board voted to hold a special meeting on January 24, 1967 at 7:30 P.M.
