HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - 01/03/1967BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING JANUARY 3, 1967 The South Burlington Board of Selectmen held a regular meeting at the Town Office Building, 555 Dorset Street, South Burlington, Vermont on Tuesday, January 3, 1967 at 7:30 P.M. Mr. D'Acuti, Chairman, called the meeting to order. MEMBERS PRESENT Vincent J. D'Acuti, Chairman; Robert K. Ashley, Frederick G. Blais, Augustus T. Stannard and Stephen M. Whittlesey. MEMBERS ABSENT None OTHERS PRESENT Henry LeClair, Town Manager; John T. Ewing, Town Attorney; Bill Szymanski, Webster-Martin; Ed Myers, Free Press; Ralph Goodrich, Ken Jarvis and Wayne W. Jameson of the South Burlington Jaycees. READING OF THE MINUTES The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read after a correction was made on page three. CONTRACTS 3 and 4 Contracts 3 and 4, Phase III of Sewer System were signed. CIVIL DEFENSE MEETING Mr. D'Acuti stated that a Civil Defense meeting was to be held on January 17, 1967 from 7 to 10 P.M. at the Waterman Building in Burlington. He asked Board members to attend if possible and instructed the Manager to inform Mr. George Smith, Civil Defense Director of the meeting. DESLAURIERS PROPERTY There was a general discussion concerning the property which Roland Deslauriers is going to donate to the Town for a municipal site, after which the Board voted to accept the deed. JAYCEE WEEK Mr. Jarvis and Mr. Jameson told the Board that the Jaycees are going to proclaim the week of January 16 as Jaycee week and would like the Board of Selectmen to proclaim it as Jaycee week in South Burlington. The Board so voted to proclaim the week of January 16, 1967 as Jaycee week. Mr. Wayne Jameson stated he would furnish the proclamation by mail. The Board set up a special meeting for January 11, 1967 at 7:30 P.M. The Board then went into executive session to discuss the 1967-68 budget.
