HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - 09/21/1965BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING SEPTEMBER 21, 1965 The Board of Selectmen of South Burlington held a public meeting at the Town Office Building, 555 Dorset Street on September 21, 1965 at 7:30 P. M. The meeting was called to order by Mr. D'Acuti, Chairman. MEMBERS PRESENT Mr. Vincent J. D'Acuti, Chairman; Robert K. Ashley, Ralph B. Goodrich, Augustus T. Stannard and Stephen M. Whittlesey. OTHERS PRESENT Irving L. Douglas, Town Manager; Henry LeClair, Assistant Town Manager, William E. Mikell, Town Attorney; William D. Kellner, Chairman of the Planning Commission; Angelo Pizzagalli, John Conant and Arthur J. Rock, Jr. REPORT BY THE TOWN MANAGER ON THE SEWERAGE EASEMENTS FOR PHASES 1 & 11. Mr. Douglas reported to the selectmen that all of the easements were in for Phase 1 with the exception of easements for the following: State of Vermont, Corps of Engineers and Mose Dumas. Phase 11 easements were complete with the following exceptions: McKenzie Estate, Howard Johnson's, Angelo Pizzagalli and Harold Ray. Mr. Douglas, Town Manager, also told the Selectmen that he was certain that all easements could be completed by Friday, September 24, 1965, and that he would inform the Town Attorney and the Board of Selectmen of his progress in obtaining the few remaining deeds. REPORT ON LOADER FOR LAND FILL AREA Mr. Douglas, Town Manager, reported to the Board of Selectmen that he was still receiving quotations on the prices of a loader for the Land Fill area. The Selectmen suggested that he continue his investigation of the matter and also see if it was possible to test a loader at the area, and make a report on his findings at the next regular meeting. FIRST READING OF CHANGE OF ZONING REQUEST - PIZZAGALLI. Mr. Stephen M. Whittlesey introduced Angelo Pizzagalli's change of zoning request. Mr. D'Acuti read the proposed ordinance to the Board. After discussing the matter thoroughly the selectmen voted. Four members voted to approve the proposed ordinance, one member abstained and the chairman, Mr. D'Acuti instructed Mr. Douglas, Town Manager to advertise the Proposed Ordinance for a public hearing at the Board of Selectmen's meeting of October 19, 1965. ACCEPTANCE OF FEDERAL GRANT ON SEWER SYSTEM The Board of Selectmen instructed Mr. Douglas, Town Manager to mail to the proper authority the Town of South Burlington's Acceptance of the Federal Grant for the new sewer system on Friday, September 24, 1965 if so advised by the Town Attorney.
