CONDEMNATION OF DAVIS BROTHERS PROPERTY The Town Manager explained to the Board that Dan Davis stated he would not sign an option deed for the land to install the interceptor and the pumping station. Mr. Davis said that this must go through condemnation procedure or the property purchased at a price of $28,000.00. The Town Manager further stated that he had made an offer for the easement rights for the interceptor of $1.00 a lineal foot or $1560.00 plus $1500.00 for the piece of land for the pumping station. The Board of Selectmen unanimously voted to authorize the Town Manager to start the necessary procedure for the condemnation of the property. ONE-TON ROLLER Mr. Douglas, Town Manager, told the Board of Selectmen that during the years 1963-1964 we paid $225.00 rental charge for the use of a one-ton roller and that probably the charge for the 1965-1966 period would be $100.00 to $200.00. He explained that the Parker-Danner Company has a one-ton roller, reconditioned, that they would sell to the Town for $550.00. Mr. Goodrich thought that rather than purchase and maintain a roller the town should rent the equipment when needed. The Board of Selectmen unanimously agreed with Mr. Goodrich and did not authorize the purchase of this equipment. SIDEWALK - DUMONT CONSTRUCTION COMPANY PROPERTY FORMERLY BARRETT PROPERTY Mr. Douglas, Town Manager showed the Board of Selectmen a plot plan for an improved path from Birch Court to the High School parking area. The School Department has requested that the town do the necessary repairs. The Board of Selectmen approved the improvement of this path and instructed the Town Manager to work with the School Department. The School Department will have to finance the lighting of the path until June 30, 1966. WORTHEIM LEASE LAND The Town Manager explained to the Board of Selectmen that Mr. Wortheim presented a check to the Town Treasurer for $4900.00 in payment for the condemned land for Interstate 189. Undoubtedly the reason for the Town's name being on the check was due to the fact that this is Lease Land. The Town Manager assured the Board that there was no delinquent tax due or any claim by the Town on the property. The Town Treasurer requested the Board of Selectmen for authority to endorse the check. The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the Town Treasurer endorsing the check as there was no claim against the property. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 5:25 P.M.
