Whittlesey ALSO PRESENT Irving L. Douglas, Town Manager Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Vincent J. D'Acuti, Chairman. The minutes of the meeting of February 4, 1964 were read and approved and the chairman of the Board requested a more detailed outline of the minutes. The Town Manager reported to the Board of Selectmen that the advertising of the Ordinance would be published February 12, 1964 and a meeting called for final reading of the Ordinance February 28, 1964 at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Office Building. The Board voted to change the meeting place to the High School at the same day and same time. The Free Press was called and changed the printing to read "Meeting to be held at the High School on Dorset Street." The Chairman of the Board explained that Webster-Martin had presented a new agreement to be signed and certain modifications were to be made by the Town Attorney and would be presented to Webster-Martin for their approval, and, if approved, would be signed by the Board of Selectmen. The Town Manager reported that the final information for the annual report was slow in being received at his office and that he expected distribution of the annual report late in the week of February 17, 1964. The bids on the police cruiser were read. Shearer Chevrolet delivered price was $1,600. Goss Co. on a Dodge cruiser quoted price $1,208,02. The Goss bid was unanimously approved. It was unanimously decided for a plain cover for the annual report and the Town Manager was instructed to be sure and put in a memoriam for Alan C. Alfred in the annual report as Mr. Alfred had been an outstanding citizen and held many offices in the Town of South Burlington. The Town Manager explained the disposal plant operation at Bartletts Bay and that it was costing us $10 per day for the care and maintenance of this plant. The Town Manager recommended working with Art Rock to have an employee learn the operations so that the Town could take care of this maintenance. The Board of Selectmen unanimously voted to table this item until after the March annual meeting. Chairman of the Board of Selectmen requested a resume of any new employees in the Police Department of other department of the Town. The Town Manager advised the Board of Selectmen that at this time the Town does not have a Civil Defense chairman and recommended the appointment of Henry Collin of Mayfair Pkwy, to act as Civil Defense chairman. The Board unanimously appointed Mr. Henry Collin as chairman of the Civil Defense and instructed him to immediately organize a Civil Defense committee. There being no further business the meeting was closed at 10:00 P.M. The next meeting would be held at the High School February 28, 1964 and there would be no Selectmen meeting the 18th. Vincent J.
