NARRATIVE:
On the November 1st, 2021 at 12:55 PM the South Burlington Police responded to 155 Dorset Street for
a reported shooting. The initial report indicated that a male subject was seen shooting at a second male
in a parking lot located on the northwest side of the property.
The investigation has identified Hieheem Kirkland, 29 YOA of Winooski as the suspect responsible for
the shooting. Kirkland targeted his victim over an interpersonal relationship involving a female. Kirkland
has been a justice-involved person and is a convicted felon. South Burlington Police are seeking to arrest
Kirkland on the charges of Attempted First Degree Murder and being a prohibited person in possession
of a firearm. Although Kirkland’s criminality was focused on his intended victim, investigators consider
Kirkland to be armed and dangerous.
Kirkland is likely in the company of a female associate, Devan Carey 25 YOA of Winooski. Investigators
are also interested in speaking with Carey about this incident.
