Lot 250' x 415' = 103,750 square feet - 2.38 acres. Richard Ward, Zoning Adm. Officer October 18,1989 City of South Burlington 575 Dorset Street, S. Burlington, Vt 05403 Dear Dick: Because we will be unable to attend the Zoning meeting on Monday ,October 23, 1989, we wish to make an observation on the parking compound requested in item #2 of the agenda. Currently, there are Bushey garbage trucks being parked on the very rear (the southern boundary) of the Handy lot. Granted, there is fencing between the Handy lot and our backyard, but the business end of these trucks is within 15-20 ft. of our grape vine and garden area. The odor from these vehicles even in the cool of October is extremely objectionable to us. We hesitate to think of what hot summer nights might bring. Because of restauants on Shelburne Road, we already have an abundant supply of wildlife -birds, raccoons, skunks and woodchucks - which visit our neighborhood nightly. Certainly we don't need "added" attractions. When we built our home here in 1950, the area to the north of us was a beautiful meadow.. Over thr years, commercialization has squeezed much of the natural beauty from our street. As taxpayers for nearly forty years here in South Burlington, we sincerely hope that the Zoning Board will restrict garbage trucks from being parked in such close proximity to our residential area. Sincerely, Charles K. Murray Shirley R.
