HomeMy WebLinkAboutVR-96-0000 - Supplemental - 0036 Sherry RoadBuilding Zoning Variance Request from William and Pamela Foley for 36 Sherry Road, South Burlington, VT. We are requesting a variance to do the following: -Remove the existing steps from the front door of our house and replace them with a new deck that will be covered by a new roof (see attachment 1). -Our residence is set back 34' from our property line and the proposed deck is 19' long and 16' wide. This will require a 12' variance due to the 30' set back requirement for this property (see attachment 2). -The deck will be constructed using pressure treated lumber. There will be a spindle railing around the edge of the deck and on the outside of the stairs, and the roof support columns will also be a spindle design. -There will lights recessed into the deck ceiling, gutters on each side of the new roof (there are gutters on the existing residence roof) and there will be lattice enclosing the lower portion of the deck and stairs. -The stairs to the deck will be four feet wide and will have two platforms (one half way up the stairs and one at the top of the stairs. The stairs are designed to improve access to our residence for Pamela's parents who are in their 70's. As part of this project, I will also be replacing the existing roof of the residence and will need a building permit for this project. If my variance request is approved, I will have both projects done at the same time.
