Dear Sir:
Reference: Zoning Notice in Burlington Free Press dated
March 21, 1987.
The Zoning Notice indicates that your board will consider two
applications .... Appeals # 1 and #2.... for the Lindenwood Inn
and a car wash on 1880 Shelburne Road.
I wish to record my concern on both of these applications.
#1 is located at a critical intersection of Shelburne Road
that is integrated with not only 189 but also with such
retail establishments as Pizza Hut, Bonanza and several
service stations. Traffic is already backed up from 189 south
because of commercial interference with patrons entering or -
exiting these establishments. Allowing this zoning use would
compound an already hazardous situation. However, removing
several of these curb -cuts on Shelburne Road to a common
drive to the rear of each property could be an alternative
solution.
I am sure that the Lindenwood improvements would be in as
good a taste as t e current establishment and I applaud the
current owners for their efforts to enhance the property.
02... I am opposed to any more facilities that would not
enhace the neighborhood in this section of the city. The
strip development of assorted service industries is just
having a negative|impact on the cities image. I have nothing
against car wash but our city has had enough of this type
of development and the traffic counts are just too high today
to entertain more,
