SECTION
FOUNDATION NOTES:
1. All concrete shall be 3000 PSI compressive strength t 28 days.
2. Reinforcing steel shall be intermediate grade min. y Id 40, 000 PSI-ASTM-
A615.
3. Foundations designed for allowable soil pressure of 00.HSF plus 1/3 increase
for wind loading. If soil of lesser allowable strength occurs, the foundation
shall be redesigned. Factor of safety against overtu )ng is 1.5 for 35 PSF.
4. Concrete foundation depth on horizontal slab must co*1ply with local codes.
Adjust cover over footing to correct depth and length, n sill reinforcing as
required.
5. Information required for installation release is model No. and foundation type.
Example: P38-14-35, horizontal foundation; P38, Product face model No.:
I'M", - Column mounting height "35", design wind pVessure required by
local code; "horizontal foundation" - the type of foundation selected on survey.
6. Construction Sequence:
A. Excavate footing to dimensions shown on drawin for type and model num-
ber selected on survey.
B. Tie, place and support reinforcing mats as sho on drawings.
C. Form sill to dimensions shown for casting mon 'chic with footing. Full
size sill template to be furnished by sign manuf cturer to insure fit
of base cover.
D. Set anchor bolts to elevation shown and in corre t position using template
furnishedbysign manufacturer. Full size tem ate can be removed
after sill is framed and anchor bolts secured.
E. Install electrical conduit at correct depth and st b up beneath base
cover at location shown. Hole in template loca s electrical conduit.
F. Cast concrete against cut bank, consolidatingin place by rodding.
7. Allowable, lateral soil pressure must not be less tha 300 PSF per foot of depth.
8. All construction for foundations must conform to Ge pral Motors Corp. dealer
Identity program specifications. �+
