Marla,
The new driveways don’t necessarily concern me given the very low volume on Southview. However, the southern
driveway takes a jog to the south instead of going straight out to the street. During snow plowing, both the sidewalk and
road, we will dump an inordinate amount of snow along the driveway given its geometry. It may make more sense for it
to go straight to Southview. If there’s a field condition, like a hydrant, utility pole, etc., they are trying to avoid with the
jogged design, it’s not evident on the submitted sketch plan.

Terry, Justin,
We’ve received a sketch plan subdivision application for 400 Hinesburg Road. The property is the brick rambler on the
bend near where you cross Muddy Brook. They’re proposing to subdivide into 2 lots – a front and a rear, and to have a
single family with accessory dwelling unit in the rear. The rear would also be on a bend. We’re going to have to talk
about what constitutes an “accessory dwelling unit” as differentiated from a duplex, but I thought you both might have
some words about it based on it’s location on a bend and the multiple driveways proposed.
Please provide comments by February 11.
