Since we do not know when the replacement siding will be completed can the main building at 100 Dorset Street, as you suggested we will submit signage individually as designs become available. Therefore at this time we are requesting an approval of the overa!! r,,lan,, details of which will be submitted on an individual basis. Of more urgency is the approval of the other Rugged Bear sign on the Cork 8 Board side: of the building. I understand that approval of this sign was being held pending subr'nittai of a master, plan. I hope that the enclosed will allow Rugged Bear to co=miplete their signage. Would you be kind enough to let me. know what, if anything else, is needed to acDornpiish this. The letters will be constructed of either plastic form letters or painted anodized type lettering. Letters will be between 12" and 18" in height, depending upon the allowance for each tenant and how many letters are required. The following wall signage allocations are based upon the use of cutout lettering (10% of signable wall area) multiplied by an additional bonus of 25% for master plan. Individual signs will be submitted in the future separately for adherence to the maximum allowable area. Several of these tenants will not use their entire allowance. Judge Development Corporation will review and approve each sign prior to submittal to the City. This review will include conformance to the master signage plan. Box 515 Williston, VT 05495 8021879-6500 Fax 802/879-2447 Enclosed please find our application to amend or re -issue a sign permit under the Master Signage Plan with some slight modifications. As you may be aware, we are in the process of completing renovations to the second floor office space, and we wish to make signage available to the existing and any new tenants. in requesting this amendment, we would ask that the City of South Burlington take into consideration the signage area permitted under the previous plan and the actual signage area used. Those corresponding figures are included with this application. Under the present permit, the total allowable signage area is 491.74 square feet. The area actually used is 82.76 square feet. This leaves 409.02 square feet of unused signage area under the existing permit. Since the proposed second floor signage area consists of approximately 240 square feet, we suggest a simple realignment to include the new signage area. Box 515 Williston, VT 05495 802/870-6500 Fax 802/879-2447 I apologize for the delay in getting back to you on the revised signage application for 100 Dorset Street. The last couple weeks have been very tusy, and I have been trying to rework the application properly and understandably. Please replace the appiication you have with this one and apply the fee we submitted earlier. I :gym sorry about the confusion,, but the previous Master Signage Plan submitted r.v Amy Adams was figured using a height of between 18.5 feet and 20.5 feet. That would be fine, except that she only included the first floor tenants in that space. In the Amendment I submitted previously, I attempted to show how the signable area you have already approved should accommodate the second floor tenants as well, since t;ie dimensiins used actuaily included the second floor area. Obviously, my methods were fiawad, out I boiieve you wiii find the results will be about the same. For you! reference, I have included the frontage din",ansions for each ten_a.r,t (arse and second sloo; ors the enclosed list, and 1 have highlighted the correspondinc areas on ar. eieva.tion si,etch and floor glans which are also enclosed. The Cimansions for Cork & Board and Rugged Bear remain the same, Since there is no second floor above tnern. I believe this is in accordance with the instructions in your Sign Ordinance, dated April 1;5', -i 991, the most recent version we nave. Patrice MASTER SIGNAGE PLAN 100 DORSET STREET AMENDED April 15, 1994 A master signage plan for the 100 Dorset Street Shopping Center and Office Complex was approved by Richard Ward on December 2, 1993. A copy is attached 'hereto for reference. This application is to amend the existing permit to delineate signage area for the second floor office tenants subsequent to its renovation. The proposed additional signage area consists of a portion of outside wall that surrounds the stairwell leading to the second floor (highlighted on attached drawing and photograph) and squarely faces the parking area and Dorset Street. This area would consist of approximately 240 square feet (12' x 20' ), the bottom of which would line up with the existing band of signage area 10-11 feet off the ground. Lettering will be made from the same plexi-glass material in matching green with similar or idential type style used, but smaller in size (probably 8" caps, 5" lower case). We anticipate a probable maximum of 10-12 tenants once the remaining space is leased. Given a 12" wide strip for each potential sign, the proposed area should be more than adequate. Under the existing Master Signage Plan, a total of 491.74 square feet was calculated for signage area. The completed signage actually consists of only 82.76 square feet, leaving a balance of over 400 square feet of unused approved signage area. This application for amendment proposes to simply realign the signage area to accommodate the 240 square feet for the second floor tenants. This would provide a uniform appearance with existing signage, without cluttering up the rest of the building. Lettering will be made from the same cut-out plexiglass material in matching green and similar or idential type style, but smaller in size (probably 6" caps, 4" lower case). There are currently 4 tenants that may wish to install signage, with a possible maximum of 6-8 additional tenants as the remaining space is leased.
