Pump Island
Two -Column
Standard
The Silverado design for the new pump
island reflects the marketing emphasis
being placed on this area through the
prominent display of the Brand Identity.
Key to the pump island design is the
'spandrel,' which spans between columns
and encompasses the header' portion
of the multi product dispensers.
The spandrel serves as an important
marketing, functional, and architectural
element As a marketing component it
reinforces the Shell Brand Identity by uti-
lizing the coloration, accent band, and
identity elements appearing on the canopy
fascia above. In addition, the spandrel
enhances the product dispenser through
architectural presentation and lighting.
Lettering on
spandrel ends
is illuminated
As a functional component the span-
drel acts as an important lighting source
for downlighting'immediatelyaround the
dispenser area and 'uplighting' reflected
off the canopy ceiling. The spandrel also
serves to identify the pumps by numerical
designation on the yellow accent band,
and by type of service (Full or Selo on
the spandrel ends.
Architecturally, the spandrel integrates
the dispenser with the canopy column
and achieves a unified, contemporary
look The standard spandrel has a 24"
dark grey fascia with a 6" yellow accent
band.
If sign restrictions limit the number or
square footage of signing elements, the
pump island spandrel signs shall take
priority over canopy fascia signs.
