Re: Request for variance
Gentlemen:
My wife and I are respectfully requesting a variance in zoning in order that
we may construct a woodshed at the rear of our property at 49 Brewer Parkway.
The distance from the existing 41 stockade fence will be about one foot.
The necessity for this request is that we have now heated with wood for two
full winters and intend to use wood as our main fuel. We have been storing
wood in this area for two and one half years. Covering with tarps has not
been satisfactory. Because of the unique shape of our property there is no
other location for the shed which would maintain the aesthetic and functional
quality of the property as it now is.
We have discussed the woodshed with our neighbors who adjoin our property, most
specifically with Mr. and Mrs. Klinck at 47 Brewer Parkway. None of the
property owners consulted objected to our plans for construction. Letters from
Mr. Loomis, 65 Brewer Parkway; Mr. and Mrs. Clewley, 69 Brewer Parkway and
Mr. and Mrs. Klinck, 47 Brewer Parkway, are attached.
It is our intention that the woodshed will not be enclosed. Latticework will
be on both ends. It is also our intention that it not be used for other
purposes. The Klincks did not request, but we offered to construct a six foot
stockade fence from the end of the shed to the property line of 67 Brewer Parkway.
This will match the fencing already in existence between 47 and 67 Brewer Parkway.
The shed will be all new construction, stained and roofed with rolled shingles.
It will rest on block as shown in the drawing and will have a gravel floor.
A drawing of the property with existing home, landscaping and proposed location
of the shed is attached, along with a drawing of the proposed shed.
