Gentlemen:
As you know we are progressing quite rapidly on our new
Dodge dealership in South Burlington.
We are now submitting this request for Product and Company
signs to you for your approval. The attached brochure
should be quite self explanatory.
The Dodge Product sign 01) will be placed approximately
25 to 30 feet in front and toward the southern end of our
used car lot. As you know our property slopes away from
Shelburne Road and consequently the base of our sign (at
ground level) will be approximately 5 feet below the level
of Route 7. With the 570' - 600' front footage we have on
Route 7 the area is wide open and consequently extremely
windy. It has been recommended to us that we use the twin
pylon base because of these wind conditions even though it
tends to distract ones attention from the product it sells.
The company sign (#2) "Goss Dodge" is a non -illuminated sign
placed on the circular facade of the building. This sign is
quite similar to "The C. H. Goss Co." sign in the photograph.
The sign is approximately 40' in length with 3 foot block
letters.
Your early acceptance and approval of these signs will be
greatly appreciated.

From conversations we have had together in the past, we have
been led to believe and feel quite sure that you will concur
that our Product and Company signs for our new location on
Shelburne Road should not exceed approximately 210 sq. feet
in total.
Our Company sign will be non -illuminated and placed on the
circular facade of our building. The sign will be red block
letters 3 feet high and 30 feet long. The sign will read
"Goss Dodge".
The Product sign will be placed approximately 25 to 30 feet
in front of and toward the southern end of our used car lot.
This sign, by your recommendation, will be 8 ft. by 10 ft.
and the height will not exceed 25 feet from the ground.
With these specifications in mind we have the following:
Company Sign - 3x3o = 90 sq. ft.
Product sign - 8x10 = 80 sq. ft.
Total - 170 sq. feet.
As we have mentioned to you before we are not interested in
cluttering up our new location with signs. However, one
thought has occured to us. With the design of our complete
facilities, our proposed service department will not be
readily visible from Shelburne Road. It will be located be-
hind our showroom and considerably lower. Because of this
it may be necessary later on to have a Service Sign in the
form of an arrow showing the entrance to our service facil-
ities.

In as much as we are using only 170 sq. ft. of the suggested 210
sq. ft. for the present, it might be in order to request the
additional 40 sq. ft. or some part of it be designated for this
future purpose at this time.
Your acceptance of these plans will be greatly appreciated.
