Re: 189 Mall Sign Proposal
Dear Ray:
ZONING ADMINISTRATOR
658-7958
Having reviewed your request for a new wall and pylon sign for the
Outlet Mall, I have the following concerns:
The location of the proposed pylon sign would result in the
elimination of one or two parking spaces. Alterations to the
parking lot requires site plan review by the Planning Commission.
The design of the sign would also violate two provisions within the
Sign Regulations. Section 17 provides that a sign be erected in a
location that does not obstruct a free and clean vision, Section 20
states that a sign structure not dominate the lot on which it is
erected. The wall sign as proposed is acceptable, however, the
pylon sign reflects a greater mass then would be acceptable. The
property in question is allowable a eight (80) square foot pylon
sign. The pylon sign proposed contains one hundred and sixty
(160) square feet. Therefore, any request to install the proposed
pylon sign would be denied.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call me.
Very truly,
Richard Ward,
Zoning Administrative Officer
