INCIDENT TYPE: Hate Motivated Crime, Disorderly Conduct & Unlawful Mischief
BRIEF NARRATIVE:
On August 8, 2018 around 11:50 pm the South Burlington Police Department received a report
of a burglary which took place on Lime Kiln Road. When officers arrived several pieces of property were found vandalized to include a vehicle, the side of a residence as well as several landscape lights.
Investigation revealed 45-year-old Timothy Moore of South Burlington made direct remarks toward a person of Middle Eastern descent before vandalizing his property and then engaging in a
physical altercation with a neighbor who witnessed the crime. Due to Mr. Moore making comments
directed toward the victim’s religious beliefs and then vandalizing his property immediately after, Mr. Moore was charged with Hate Motivated Crimes.
Mr. Moore was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Supreme Court, Criminal Division at 8:15 am to answer to the charges of Disorderly Conduct, Unlawful Mischief and Hate Motivated Crimes.
