INCIDENT TYPE: Careless and Negligent Operation
BRIEF NARRATIVE:
On August 7, 2018 at about 11:30 pm a South Burlington Police Officer entered onto Interstate 189 from
Shelburne Road and observed a vehicle in front of him traveling east at a high rate of speed. The officer
was able to catch up and pace the vehicle at about 108 miles per hour. This stretch of highway is a posted 55 mile per hour speed zone.
The operator was pulled over and identified as 39-year-old, Daniel Pierce of Enosburg, Vermont. Mr. Pierce was issued a citation to appear in Chittenden Superior Court, Criminal Division for August 28,
2018 at 8:30am to answer to the charge of Careless and Negligent Operation.
