INCIDENT TYPE: Driving Under the Influence #2
BRIEF NARRATIVE:
On July 4th 2018 at approximately 1526 hours South Burlington Police received a report of an erratic operator traveling North on Shelburne Road. The caller told police the vehicle traveled into the oncoming lane and almost caused several accidents. A South Burlington Police Officer located the vehicle on Shelburne Road near Allen Road and conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle. Investigation
revealed that the vehicle was being operated by Julius Bucumi, 40, of Burlington. Bucumi displayed
several indicators of intoxication was screened for impairment during the stop. Bucumi was found to be under the influence of intoxicants and unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. He was unable to provide a preliminary breath sample and was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.
Bucumi was issued a citation to appear in Chittenden Superior Court on July 24th 2018 to answer the charges.
