BRIEF NARRATIVE:
On June 20, 2018 at approximately 1940 hours South Burlington Police received a report of erratic operation in the area of Shaw’s Plaza on Shelburne Road. The vehicle was described as a blue Audi and reportedly was “all over the road” while traveling northbound on Interstate 89, Interstate 189 and Shelburne Road before pulling into the plaza area.
Upon arrival South Burlington officers were advised the vehicle was being driven by a blonde female who had just left the area. A registration was provided by a witness and an immediate search of the surrounding area revealed the described vehicle with the provided license plate was parked in the north side parking area of
Walgreens. The vehicle was parked opposite of the painted yellow lines dictating vehicle parking spaces.
A field contact was initiated and when the vehicle was approached by police the female operator, identified as
Jennifer C. Lovell (36 YO) of South Burlington, attempted to back the vehicle up before putting the vehicle in
park. Subsequent investigation lead to Lovell being taken into custody for suspicion of DUI as well as DLS and
VCR x 2.
Lovell was transported to the SBPD for processing. Lovell refused to participate in Field Sobriety Exercises on
scene or a Drug Recognition Expert examination during processing. A warrant for Lovell’s blood was applied for and granted. The blood draw was executed at the UVM Medical Center.
Lovell was ordered to appear in court for arraignment of the DLS and VCR charges on 06/21/18 at 0800 hours. A charge for Driving Under the Influence is pending per the results of an evidentiary drug test.
