BRIEF NARRATIVE:
On June 16th, 2018 at approximately noon the South Burlington Police Department received a call from the Vermont State Police. VSP related one of their cruisers had been involved in a minor crash on Shelburne Road.
An Officer from the South Burlington Police Department responded and investigated the crash.
The Trooper’s vehicle came to a stop in the eastern most lane of southbound travel with the intent of making a left turn (to travel east) into the private parking lot of Bourne’s Shell Station. A vehicle (non-contact) traveling north in the western most lane of northbound travel came to a stop. The operator of the non-contact vehicle signaled the Trooper to proceed with his turn across the north bound lanes. Vehicle #2 was traveling north in the eastern most lane of northbound travel. As the cruiser began his turn the left front corner of the cruiser struck the left front corner of vehicle #2. Neither operator saw the other until contact. Both operators
moved their respective vehicles into the Bourne’s lot out of traffic.
There were no reported injuries. The cruiser was driven from the scene by the Trooper. The other vehicle was
towed from the scene due to the damage.
