INCIDENT TYPE: Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Possession of Methamphetamine and
Arrest on Warrant
BRIEF NARRATIVE:
On May 22nd, 2018 at 1:29 am, a South Burlington PD officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on a silver Kia
Forte on Interstate 89 North near the Winooski River Bridge after discovering that the operator and male registered owner of the vehicle had an expired license. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Stephen J. Sisters 59 y/o of Essex Junction, VT and the passenger in the vehicle was identified as Ty J. Baker Jr. 21 y/o of South Burlington, VT.
The South Burlington PD officer conducted a drug interdiction investigation after observing numerous indicators of drug possession and transportation. Sisters and Baker Jr. granted the officer consent to search his vehicle and at the conclusion, the officer located 14.38 grams of methamphetamine inside of a backpack, and .027 grams of methamphetamine in the center console of the vehicle.
Baker Jr.’s information was checked through law enforcement databases, and he was found to currently have
an outstanding warrant in the State of Vermont. Baker Jr. was placed into custody for the felony possession of
methamphetamine and for his outstanding warrant, and Sisters was placed into custody for the misdemeanor
possession of methamphetamine.
Sisters was later released on a citation to appear at Chittenden County Superior Court- Criminal Division on
06/12/2018 at 8:30 am to answer for his charge, and Baker Jr. was ultimately lodged on his outstanding
warrant and issued a flash citation to appear at Chittenden County Superior Court- Criminal Division on
05/24/2018 his charge.
