The traffic situation at the site is extremely bad and it was suggested that we give thought to having separated entrances and exits and that the exits be two lanes wide. WARREN MCCLURE • PUBLISHER Dear Vin: Assuming that no one has objected to the Shopping Center that is being constructed at the foot of Brewer Parkway, and that it is going to be a re- ality, I think that it is important that the people of the neighborhood insist on having an opportunity to approve how the traffic flow pattern will be solved. If the main entrance and exit to the shopping center will be opposite Brewer Parkway, certainly a light will be vital. We cannot, in my opinion, afford to let this center open without a traffic plan, and the proper signals ---we learned this from the Sears -Grand -Way complex over the year s. It is practically impossible, as you must know, during certain hours to gain ingress or egress from Brewer Parkway. There must be somewhere between 100 and 125 cars that are housed on this street, in addition to the ones that come and go for other reasons. Therefore, this letter, in writing, is to put me as one, on record, as being deeply concerned that the Town of South Burlington does not follow past pro- cedures and "hope" as compared to providing for V E R M 0 N T' S N U M B E R O N E A D V E R T I S I N G M E D I U M 7 -2- i" The Pitrthigtott ftrr Vrniii automobile and pedestrian safety well in advance of the problem. I have no objection, of course, to the income -producing properties for South Burlington, but I am concerned about the traffic, and getting on and off Brewer Parkway from and to Shelburne Road. Burlington has made a mess of the Grandway area. The addition of a light so that people can get to Rice High School is improperly timed. I am sure that all of you on the Board of Selectmen are eager to keep the people on Brewer Parkway happy, and I hope you are studying the ingoing and outgoing traffic for these some one hundred -plus cars that are on this street. I hope that you and your colleagues will give this matter early attention so that we will not go through the usual problems of "wait -wait -wait". Thank you. Goldfeld and Martin W. Juster d/b/a Justgold Properties, I enclose herewith a Deed conveying to the Town of South Burlington an easement over the southerly 20 feet of their property located on the westerly side of Shelburne Road. You will note that the Deed refers to a map which the Town apparently intends to file prior to recording and I would appreciate it if you could forward me a copy of that map at your earliest convenience. I would assume that since this transfer is to a municipality, no conveyance tax is required. If the case is otherwise, please advise. To be certain that we are in full compliance with the technical requirements for conveyances in the State of Vermont, I am forwarding a copy of this Deed to our Vermont Attorney Leon D. Latham, Jr. and I will ask Mr. Latham to give you a call prior to your recording the same in the Land Records of the Town of Burlington. PFH:cmb enc. cc: Mr. Hyman J. Goldfeld Mr. Martin W.
