It is being denied because you currently have a sign on the property and this sign would constitute an additional sign resulting in two (2) signs on the property. Section 18(a) of the sign ordinance states in part that "... one sign may be erected for a lot which has a valid non-residential use..." Since only one (1) sign is permitted per lot and you currently have a sign I can not issue a permit for an additional sign. The only way I could issue this permit would be if you were to remove the existing sign. Enclosed is your application fee which is being returned to you.
