1. This is an area that has been a maintenance problem for the City for some
time. This work will correct the problems and I am in favor of it.
2. There exists a street slope drain in the area which has to be tied into
the proposed inlets.

I hereby appeal to the Zoning Board of Adjustment for the following: conditional use,
variance or decision of the administrative officer. I understand the meetings are

Dear Dick:
The Burlington International Airport proposes to undertake the
regrading of two areas adjacent to the Runway 15 End Overrun and
Airport Parkway. The work will involve the installation of catch
basins and 36-inch reinforced concrete pipe and the areas will be
filled, topsoiled, seeded and mulched. Special attention will be
given to erosion and siltation control.
The filling and regrading of these areas will be done in phases.
The first phase will include installation of the catch basins and
pipe and placement of sufficient fill over the pipe to protect it.
The areas will be graded to drain readily and effectively and top -
soiled, seeded and mulched.
Additional filling and regrading will take place as surplus excava-
tion material becomes available from future airport improvement
projects. At the completion of each phase the area disturbed will
be topsoiled, seeded and mulched.
The areas proposed to be filled are not natural drainage areas, but
were constructed when Runway 15-33 was extended in the 1950's. The
proposed construction will reduce the potential for erosion, make
the area easier to maintain for the airport, and increase the safety
of aircraft using Burlington International Airport.
Additionally, the enbankment to Airport Parkway continues to erode
in this area. Therefore the project will preclude costly future
repairs for the city.
