September 14, 1971
Mr. Richard hlyette showed a site plan which would add 2 lots in the development
making a total of 16 lots instead of the 14 originally planned.
A brief discussion followed. Acting City Manager Szymanski told the members of the
Commission he is very pleased with the cooperation he has received from the developers
and they have done an excellent job.
A motion was made by Mrs. Maher that the new proposal to redivide the property to
,increase the number of lots from 14 to 16 be accepted, and that the revised plan be
recorded at the City Hall. Mr. Lamphere seconded the motion and it was approved unani-
mously.
REPORT OI1 VELCO IIEARING - 1,2S. MAHER
Mrs. Maher gave a report of the VE.LOO hearing regarding overhead power lines being
considered by VELCO through South Burlington.
Mr. Allard said he feels we should continue the battle for underground installation,
in spite of the testimony given at the hearing.
Discussion centered on VELCO'S criticism of South Burlington's allowing overhead
lines along Shelburne Road when the fifth lane was installed. Mr. Lamphere recalled
that the Commission had been informed by Mr. Behney, unless the overhead installation
was approved quickly, the fifth lane construction would be delayed. Since the Commission
felt the fifth lane was badly needed to relieve traffic congestion, overhead installation
of power lines was approved.
There being no other business to come before the board, a motion was made by Mrs. Maher
to adjourn. Mr. Lamphere seconded the motion and it was approved unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 8 P. M.
