Jacob treatment facility on Queen City Park Road in South Burlington. Construction includes one 450 square foot upflow adsorption clarifier and two 350 square foot deep bed, mixed media filters housed within a 2500 square foot concrete and masonry building addition. The improvements are essentially identical to the existing clarification and filtering processes now employed by CWD. Additional work includes demolition of a 2200 square foot maintenance garage to make space for the plant addition, construction of a new 3500 square foot replacement maintenance garage, and ass&;fated yard piping and site improvements. The purpose of the work is to provide required base load water availability to keep pace with increasing demands, while building in additional water supply reliability, including emergency backup.
