Burlington — Wall Sign Permit Application The following application is for the wall -mounted signs for the Lowe's of South Burlington. We are proposing only a lighting change for these previously approved signs, otherwise they are identical. We believe we are still within the regulations and conditions of approval for this site. As a reminder, the Indoor Lumber Yard and Garden Center signs are window signs that do not exceed 25% of the glass area. This can be seen directly on Page 4 of the exhibits, "ILY & GC Letters." Thus, it is our understanding that these do not require a permit. The main sign totals 200 square feet, but per the regulations these are cut out letters and therefore only 100 square feet of area counts toward the total. The attached exhibits show how the three signs will be externally illuminated by reverse channel illumination, also referred to as "backlit" signs. This design places the lighting behind each individual letter creating a "halo" effect, silhouetting the letters. Each letter will be made out of an opaque material on the front and sides so that no light will shine through them. The LED light sources will not be visible on or around these signs. We believe that these signs are in conformance with the Sign Ordinance and therefore respectfully request approval. 1H htivr SMel P. 0.
