Please be advised that I represent Mr. & Mrs. Dennis
Barber, presently residing in Parksville, Missouri. They
own property on Patchen Road which bounds the Melna property
on the south and east. In fact, a portion of the Barber
property is used for storage of the concrete products which,
although unauthorized, has not been strongly objected to.
The Melna building is a nonconforming use, and is the only
nonresidential use in the area. The operation is not attrac-
tive in a residential area, and has obviously outgrown its
shop and land area. Rather than allow an expansion, it would
seem appropriate for the operation to be relocated in a more
appropriate commercial or industrial area.
I do not see that the request meets any of the five
criteria necessary for a variance. Any expansion will
further detract from the Barber property, and probably
cause a reduction in value. Therefore, we would like to
go on record in opposition to the request. Would you
kindly present this letter to the Board, so that they will
understand there is opposition to the proposal.
