HomeMy WebLinkAboutSP-20-019 - Supplemental - 0057 Hinesburg Road (12)Hello Dick: Thank you for checking in on this question. EIFS is prohibited material in the Form Based Code districts and no matter the degree of exterior exposure it is strictly forbidden (Sec. 8.07(B)). As part of our normal Energy Star construction we have been adhering 3 in of DOW extruded foam board on the outside of our poured basement walls. After first backfill we then parge this with a material specifically made for that purpose which looks like cement. We then do final topsoil etc. leaving about 6 to 18 in of the parged DOW board exposed depending on grade. This offers good insulation and is significantly less costly then insulating the poured walls on the inside which requires fire proof covering. This is on the poured cement walls below siding only. If this is prohibited we will have to make alterations in our framing details. Please let me know what you think and Thanks. Dick Shasteen
