Thanks to all DRB members and SB staff for continuing these important meetings. I’m not able to participate in
this evening’s meeting but hope that you will consider including this letter in the meeting record.
I am writing to highlight the critical need for the additional homes proposed by O’Brien Farm Road, LLC and
South Village Communities, LLC. South Burlington is fortunate to be a place that Vermonters and newcomers
alike want to call home. However, when the number of people who want to move here outpaces the number of
homes added to our city, home prices rise beyond what most of us consider affordable.
Since 2010, South Burlington’s housing growth slowed to an annual pace of about 1% (from 2%
before that). Meanwhile, the median price of all houses sold here shot up to $417,000 in 2019 from
under $300,000 in 2010.
Thanks for your efforts to help improve housing affordability by allowing the number of homes here to
more accurately reflect demand.

Subject:EXTERNAL: Suspend DRB meetings

As a South Burlington resident who is concerned with the scope of development in our city and with going ahead with
DRB hearings during corona virus, I would strongly ask that you suspend hearings until the rest of the city opens up.
Thank you
