I hereby appeal to the Zoning Board of Adjustment for the following: conditional use,
variance or decision of the administrative officer. I understand the meetings are
held twice a month (second and fourth Mondays). The legal advertisement must appear
a minimum of fifteen (15) days before the hearing. I agree to pay the hearing fee
of $30.00 which is to off -set the cost of the hearing.

REQUEST FOR VARIANCE
RICHARD R. GUEST - 12 BARBER TERRACE
1. DUE TO AN OUTSIDE ENTRANCE TO THE BASEMENT ON THE NORTH SIDE
OF THE HOUSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ENLARGE THIS DIRECTION.
THE LIVING ROOM IS BORDERED, ON THE SOUTH BY THE STAIRWAY
TO THE SECOND FLOOR AND BASEMENT AND TO THE EAST BY THE
KITCHEN.
2. DUE TO ITEMS LISTED ABOVE, THE ONLY DIRECTION TO INCREASE
THE SIZE OF THE ROOM IS TO THE WEST, AND A VARIANCE IS
REQUIRED.
3. WE HAVE DONE NOTHING TO CREATE THE PRESENT SITUATION REQUIRING
US TO REQUEST A VARIANCE.
4. THIS VARIANCE, IF AUTHORIZED, WILL NOT IMPAIR ANY FURTHER
DEVELOPMENT OF ADJACENT PROPERTY. THE PROPERTY TO THE NORTH
IS BORDERED BY HIGH LILAC BUSHES AND THIS WILL NOT AFFECT
THEIR VIEW. THE ADDITION WOULD NOT BE VISIBLE FROM THE
PROPERTY TO THE SOUTH. MY ADDITION WOULD DEFINITELY BE
AN IMPROVEMENT TO THE AREA.
5. RATHER THAN ADD A LIVING ROOM, OUR CONTRACTOR IS EXTENDING
OUR PRESENT ROOM 8' THEREBY SATISFYING OUR REQUIREMENT AND
IMPROVING THE OVERALL APPEARANCE OF THE PROPERTY.

WE HAVE LIVED AT 12 BARBER TERRACE 27 YEARS. WE HAVE EXCELLENT
NEIGHBORS AND ENJOY THE AREA AND OUR HOME. NOW THAT MY CHILDREN
ARE GROWN AND MARRIED, WE FIND THAT WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH
ROOM TO HAVE THE WHOLE FAMILY HOME TOGETHER. OUR FIRST THOUGHT WAS
TO PURCHASE A DIFFERENT HOME, BUT THE THOUGHT OF LEAVING BARBER
TERRACE HAS CAUSED US TO CONSIDER ALTERNATIVES.
