Feb 4, 2019
Present: Barb Sirvis (at large), Elizabeth (Be y) Milizia (NRC), Linda Chiasson (at large), Larry
Kupferman (at large), Mike Simoneau (RPC), Maggie Leugers (Staff Advisor).
Member of the public:
1) Safety Procedures: Maggie directed us to rear doors and outdoor mee ng area in case of an
emergency.
2) Larry serves as Clerk tonight.
3) Agenda adopted as presented.
4) Minutes – Jan 28, 2019 approved as presented.
5) Community Forum program:
Commi ee reviewed the PowerPoint prepared by Barb for the Community Forum on 2/5. Edits
were made including changing the es mate of the number of dogs in SoBu to 4,300+.
6) SoBu Dog Park Survey
a) Ini al responses; to date 90 responses recorded. Deadline is 2/15. Larry volunteered to
summarize paper survey data for entry into the total. Commi ee will review data and begin
analysis at mee ng on 2/20.
7) Updates:
a) Barb will update City Council tonight on DPC progress. The Commi ee reviewed and made
sugges ons for modifica on to the PowerPoint presenta on.
The ordinance change to make Jaycee Park on-leash will be presented for first reading.
The Commi ee discussed a response if asked whether it should be changed to all parks. A er
discussion, all agreed that was an issue that would need addi onal review and, if decided to
recommend addi onal changes, would be sent to Recrea on and Parks Commi ee for
comment and poten al concurrence. If asked, Barb will recommend deferral on the ac on.
b) Interim Zoning – no mee ng since DPC on 1/28
c) Natural Resources – no mee ng since DPC on 1/28
d) Recrea on and Parks – no mee ng since DPC on 1/28
10) Mee ng Schedule: as follows:
2/20 - 5:15 – 6:45
3/4 at 5:00 -6:30 - Jus n Rabidoux to be invited
3/25 at 5:00 – 6:45
4/8 at 5:00 -6:45
4/22 at 5:00 -6:45
5/6 at 4:30-6:00
9): Execu ve Session to discuss commi ee staffing.
Linda moved to go into Execu ve Session, Mike seconded.
Mike moved to come out of Execu ve Session, Linda seconded.
Mee ng adjourned at 6:10 pm.
