Mee ng Minutes
January 28, 2019
Present: Barb Sirvis (at large), Elizabeth (Be y) Milizia (NRC), Linda Chiasson (at large), Larry Kupferman (at
large), Maggie Leugers (Staff Advisor).
Member of the public: Frank Davis.
1) Safety Procedures: Maggie directed us to rear doors and outdoor mee ng area in case of an emergency.
2) Larry serves as Clerk tonight.
3) Agenda adopted as presented.
4) Minutes – Jan 9, 2019 approved as presented: Be y abstained.
5) SoBu Dog Park Survey:
a) Distribu on plan:
· Clerk’s office with print copies and a sign direc ng to Survey Monkey link;
· Other Paper will list link and print copies availability;
· City Hall rolling screen
· Front Porch Forum
· SoBu Weekly
· SoBu Community Watch (Facebook)
· Hard copies at forum
b) Review online survey:
· Edited the online for content
· Ques on 11 –
o added item: whether par cipants would like special events and ac vi es such as “agility”
o reworded item “ample distance from homes” to “proximity to houses”
· Ques on 17 - rewrote, removing “for an advocacy commi ee of ambassadors”
6) Community Forum
a) Distribu on of flyer:

b) Commi ee reviewed the power point Barb prepared and edited por ons.
c) Assignments:
· Barb will do the introduc on;
· Be y will present the stats and “Why Dog Parks?”
· Linda will review Site Selec on Matrix
· Larry will introduce and answer any ques ons about the survey and “we want to hear from you”
procedures.
8) Updates
a) SoBu City Council: Barb will a end next week, support presenta on of the on-leash ordinance revision, and
present a DPC update
b) Interim Zoning Open Space Commi ee: Be y was away for their last mee ng as well as the Nat Resources
Commi ee Mee ng. She suggests the DPC communicate and coordinate with both commi ees as to the DPC
work and expecta ons.
c) Natural Resources Commi ee: Linda reported that the last mee ng focused on a memo to DRB concerning
Dorset Meadows project and its impact on natural resources.
d) Rec and Parks Commi ee: Mike was not in a endance.
9) Mee ng Schedule:
At next mee ng we need to change the March 5th mee ng since Barb has a conflict.
