NARRATIVE:
On December 3rd, 2021 during the early morning hours South Burlington Police responded to 155 Dorset
Street for an apparent burglary. Security for this address had found a glass door broken through and
summoned the police.
Responding officers were able to determine that a male suspect had broken into the property and stole
a large amount of jewelry from the Piercing Pagoda. Detectives were able to use video surveillance and
a subsequent precious metal transaction to identify the suspect in this case as David Oleson (37 YOA) of
Burlington, Vermont.
Oleson has been the subject of multiple criminal investigations in the greater Chittenden County area
over the past two years. Oleson has continued to commit burglaries and other crimes while on pre-trail
conditions of release. Oleson has amassed a total of twenty-three (23) pending cases since 2020;
seventeen (17) misdemeanors and six (6) felony charges. Oleson was issued a citation to appear in
Chittenden Superior Court – Criminal Division on January 19th, 2022 to answer to this new burglary
charge.
