NARRATIVE:
On the November 1st, 2021 at 12:55 PM the South Burlington Police responded to 155 Dorset Street for
a reported shooting. The initial report indicated that a male subject was seen shooting at a second male
in a parking lot located on the northwest side of the property.
The investigation identified Hieheem “Kieemi” Kirkland, 29 YOA as the suspect responsible for the
shooting. Kirkland targeted his victim over an interpersonal relationship involving a female. Kirkland has
been a justice-involved person and is a convicted felon.
On November 11th, 2021 Kirkland was located and arrested without incident by South Burlington Police
Detectives. Kirkland was held at the Northwest Correctional Facility and will be arraigned today on
charges of Attempted First Degree Murder and the associated weapon offense. The arraignment will be
in Chittenden Superior Court – Criminal Division, the arraignment time was not available when this
release was prepared.
The South Burlington Police were provided with invaluable assistance during this investigation by both
the FBI and the Vermont State Police.
