NARRATIVE:
On September 16th, 2021 at 1:15 PM South Burlington Police responded to a 911 call of an assault in
progress on the South Burlington Middle / High School campus. Responding officers quickly learned that
the incident in question was not an in-person assault but rather a threat via virtual communication. The
incident did involve students of the district who were all on campus.
The reported threat involved weapons, specifically a gun and a knife. The nature of the threat combined
with the fact that the involved parties were on campus lead to the lock down. Investigating officers, with
the help and guidance of District officials, quickly located the three male juveniles who were reportedly
involved in making the threat. At the time of the incident and during follow up investigation no weapons
were found.
The investigation into this incident is still ongoing, it is anticipated that many other details will emerge as
to the nature of the threat and the relationship of the involved parties. Anyone with information about
