NARRATIVE:
South Burlington Police are searching for Tyshane Smith (18 YOA) for his role in the shooting that
occurred at the University Mall on 02/01/2021. Smith has been positively identified as the lone shooter
in this incident. Smith fled among his associates following the shooting, leaving behind the pistol
investigators suspect he used.
Smith is described as a black male, 6’00” tall, with a thin build. Image 1 depicts Smith in the clothing he
was wearing during the shooting incident. Image 2 depicts Smith on social media. Detectives are
working a variety of leads regarding the whereabouts of Smith. This investigation continues to evolve,
more details will be shared as information develops.
