Slaughter 34 Plainfield, VT OPR #1: AGE: ADDRESS: Brittany Aunchman 26 Panton, VT OPR #2: AGE: ADDRESS: Hannah Kuckovic 18 Burlington, VT DISPOSTION: SUSPECT ARRESTED – ARRIAGNMENT TODAY NARRATIVE: The South Burlington Police Department Bureau of Criminal Investigations has made an arrest in the pedestrian fatality which occurred on December 14th, 2020 on Shelburne Road. Detectives carefully used physical evidence found at the scene, ambient video evidence from the Shelburne Road corridor, and witness statements to identify the vehicle which first struck Jermee Slaughter. The investigation has evolved to indicate that Slaughter was intoxicated and potentially laying in the roadway at the time of the crash. With assistance from the Vermont State Police the vehicle in question was located in Panton, Vermont. South Burlington Police Detectives were able to identify the operator of the vehicle in question as Brittany Aunchman 26 YOA of Panton Vermont. Aunchman was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene an Accident – Fatality. Aunchman was released on $1,000 bail and will appear in Chittenden Superior Court – Criminal Division today. The crime of leaving the scene of a fatal crash carries the potential penalty of a fine of not more than $3,000.00 or a term of imprisonment of not less than one year nor more than 15 years, or both.
