Jager PHONE: 846-4111 FAX: 846-4102 BRIEF NARRATIVE: On May 3, 2018, at approximately 1825 hours, the South Burlington Police Department received a call from the Falmouth (MA) Police Department, advising a male entered their department to report a possible shooting in South Burlington. The reporting individual indicated a family member of his, identified as Leroy A. Headley (36 years old of South Burlington), called him and stated he shot his girlfriend. South Burlington police officers responded to a known residence of Headley on 10 Southview Drive in South Burlington and located an adult female deceased. The female appeared to have been shot. At this point the South Burlington Police Department, in conjunction with numerous agencies, are actively investigating this incident and are attempting to locate Leroy A. Headley and speak with him regarding this matter (photo attached). Should anyone have information regarding the whereabouts of Headley they are asked to contact the South Burlington Police Department at 802-598-3528. ***UPDATE*** 5/3/18 @ 11:02pm Headley may be operating a 2017 blue Nissan Pathfinder bearing Vermont registration HBR 281. An additional photo of Headley is attached. ***UPDATE 5/4/18 @ 11:00 AM. We continue to seeking information regarding the whereabouts of Leroy Headley. There is no information regarding a specific threat to the community. This appears to be a specific targeted crime. At this time Mr. Headley is a suspect in an active homicide investigation. He should be considered armed and dangerous and ask the community to exercise normal daily caution and to call 911 immediately if Mr Headley or his vehicle is located. We expect to share the identity of the victim once her family is notified of the decision to do so.
