Burke, Deputy Chief of Police Author VICTIM: AGE: VICTIM ADDRESS: JUVENILE - WITHHELD SUSPECT: AGE: SUSPECT ADDRESS: JUVENILE - WITHHELD NARRATIVE: On the listed date and time South Burlington Police and Fire were called to Rice Memorial High School for a reported assault. Investigating officers learned that there had been an attempted robbery which occurred on campus involving two students. The victim was treated for injuries that occurred during the reported attempted robbery. The suspect in the case voluntarily met with investigating officers. At this time the investigation has shown that only the victim and suspect, both juvenile males, were involved. The investigation has indicated that the victim and suspect were not known to one another. The investigation is in its very early stages which is to say, information could change as the investigation progresses. The administration of Rice Memorial High School responded to this event in a proactive manner, taking adequate precautions to keep their community safe.
