Whipple, Chief of Police SOUTH BURLINGTON POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE INCIDENT TYPE: Disorderly Conduct DATE/TIME: 08/04/2018 1:30 PM INCIDENT #: 18SB008602 INVESTIGATING OFFICER: Officer Aaron Fay APPROVING SUPERVISOR: Sergeant Soychak PHONE: 846-4111 FAX: 846-4102 BRIEF NARRATIVE: On 08/04/2018 at 1:30 PM the South Burlington Police Department responded to Williston Road in the area of Midas Drive for a “road rage” incident. A female victim contacted the police and advised that a male operating a vehicle on Williston Road attempted to force her vehicle from the roadway and then stopped his vehicle in traffic and engaged in threatening behavior towards her vehicle, which was also occupied by two children at the time of this incident. A brief investigation revealed that Christopher Robare, 48, of Burlington, Vermont had become angry after the victim activated her horn as she felt he was going to force her from the roadway due to his aggressive driving. Robare then exited his vehicle, stopping traffic, and approached her vehicle while yelling obscenities. This caused the victim to fear for her safety and the safety of her children. Robare left the scene but was located a short time later and issued a citation to appear in court on 08/30/2018 at 08:30 AM to answer to the charge of Disorderly Conduct. No photo available.
