BRIEF NARRATIVE: On 07/02/2018 at approximately 10:42 AM the South Burlington Police Department responded to the Kohl’s located at 155 Dorset Street for the report of a retail theft. The loss prevention associate at the store advised the female concealed approximately $70.00 worth of merchandise in her purse and then fled the store before paying for it.
Officer responded to the area and located the female nearby. She was identified as Beth Gay, 36, of Winooski, VT. Gay admitted to taking the items and they were removed from her purse and returned to the store.
Gay was taken into custody and subsequently released with a citation to appear in court on 07/24/2018 at 08:30 AM to answer to the charge of Retail Theft.
